Can I have this Dance? Ida's Recital

So May started off with our first concert.  Next on our list for this crazy month was a visit to our cousin Ida's house to watch her in her first ever Dance Recital.   While the day of the recital was crazy for our little dancer, we managed to have some fun at the house and at the park the day before.  Since these cousins don't see each other every day, we of course took the opportunity to snap a few pictures.

Of course we had to get outside and stretch after our long drive, so we went to the park to enjoy the spring day and have some fun.

AJ also had to have some cuddles with his Oma... while he wasn't going to take a normal picture for me, we got a few great shots of them snuggling together.

KK is all about her big cousin - she looks up to her and loves her like crazy.

Want to know what the laughs are all about? I'll never tell, but the joke stinks :-)

The girls of the family (including baby "Trace")

AJ and Georgie - he loves that Georgie is "his size"

The next evening we got to watch Ida dance her little bootie off - she did amazing!  I only got shots of a few of the dances, but she was great in all of them.  KK was so sweet, she barely moved in her seat all night (all four hours) because she didn't want to miss a minute of her cousin's dances.  Her and Oma snuggled and watched every performance and clapped along the way.  AJ was just as sweet, for the first hour... after that he and Daddy went outside to find some dirt to play cars in (and literally he did just that).  All in all it was a tired night, but all the younger dancers did amazing and worked so hard.  They had such a long day - BRAvO Ida, you were wonderful!

Do you see those moves - wow!

A James Bond girl!

Peace out people - that was the show!

Four hours later, KK gets to dance in the aisle with Ida.  Shoot I danced too - I was celebrating the end of the Beatles finale (a two hour finale that was just as long as the main show).  I still chuckle when I think about texting my sister about where the heck the yellow submarine was (the last song of the finale).  Again, way to go Ida for going over 15 hours and dancing the night away!

Check out my next post to see our Mother's Day together and a few fun pictures we took since we were all somewhat dressed up (well showered anyway).  :-)  Thank you Ida for inviting us to watch your first ever performances!  We won't forget how you shined up there!
